Once upon a time...

Edaline, the Good Fairy

A time not so far away as you may think- fairies were real, and they wandered the earth freely, granting wishes as they chose. Some picked a family who they would stay with, helping each generation along and lending a hand where needed. Others enjoyed their freedom and found themselves courted by the people for favors and blessings. And still others wandered the world, changing their form at will, searching for a good person on whom they would lavish gifts.
One fairy, named Edaline, grew tired of being asked for gifts. She longed to see what it would be liked to be ordinary. She chose a form and a name and now walks as an ordinary human- giving when she chooses, and only occasionally turning people into frogs.


Dinah, the Witch's Cat

There was a clever witch's cat named Dinah. Dinah's eyes were both blue at one point, but years of being with a witch turned her right eye a vivid green. Dinah wasn't the traditional witch's cat, being white instead of black, but she was very intelligent, and she suited her witch's purposes. Dinah came and went as she pleased, sometimes taking a liking to the odd person, sometimes not.
And she liked being scritched behind her ears.
